Hi ,

This torch was added on wed 19 and has been fine up until today .

The torches next to it are fine - don’t notice any bugs

Parameters

Salinity: 1.025
Nitrate : 40 (I did a 30% WC )
Dkh : 9.4
Temp is always 76.6-76.8

Just to show that the others are okay and open 56E6F108-FC8C-4C6C-968C-D3BEA6413D24.jpeg

Beginning of polyp bail out. I lost mine when it started doing that. you can try supergluing the flesh to the skeleton so it doesn't continue to peel away.

Hopefully others have better advice. Good luck

Thanks that puts a name to what’s happening but unfortunately everything in my tank is fine . I have mostly hammers and octos and other torches and they are ok so this is weird

Same. I had one torch coral shed 2 heads while my three other torch colonies and all other LPS were and still are doing fine.

Well I’m at a loss.

Drastic changes are bad so I can only continue to do 25-30% changes over the next few days

I’m tempted to put it in an acclimation box to try save the other polyps but I’m scared to touch it

So I’m just looking at it

Only one Skeleton pocket has bailed out so far

So I placed the torch in a small bin just inside the tank and it’s 100% brown jelly - I guess I couldn’t see it with the flow and angle inside the tank

But it stinks , have done two Lugols dips and seem to have stopped the recession on one small corner .

Can it even grow back once the mouth is gone ?

I've never seen a torch come back from brown jelly. I also wouldn't have taken it out to ammend. It would only add more stress. I would have moved it to a low flow area in the tank and try the super glue method (even thought I don't even think that'll save it. The only times I was able to save a torch when receding or kelley started was by chopping off the entire head, assuming it have multiple.

Hey ! Yeah I ended up losing the entire head and it took out my cristata torch as well .

However - my gold torch and green torch were unaffected .

As a sucker for punishment I got another 2 headed dragon soul - introduced it and it’s been fine
