I love my BioCube but got the itch for a bigger tank too. [emoji102] I just bought a used 92-gallon Aqueon corner tank that had been used as a cichlid tank. It does not have a sump, but came with a canister filter.
I want to make this tank saltwater, maybe FOWLR. Some questions:
1) The glass is tempered as far as I can tell. (It had a sticker on the bottom saying it's tempered and the Aqueon website description says the front panel is tempered.) I am scared to have it drilled because of this. (Also because it makes me nervous in general!) My LFS recommended I use an external overflow, specifically a CPR Aquatics one. Does anyone have experience with this kind of overflow? I've read scary stories online about power outage disasters... but if I can't have it drilled I'm not sure I have other options?
2) Since it would be FOWLR, at least for a while, I wouldn't need to upgrade the lighting right away, would I? Here is the current light:
3) Does anyone use canister filters in SW? It seems like I wouldn't need it, but I thought I'd ask before getting rid of it. (Or maybe using it for my FW tank if I can figure out how to use the thing.)
Thank you for any advice!

Two other things I found out, one is do not go cheap with the overflow line and two run a large return line for more flow.
