What's the secret with ur 92 corner I have been running one now for 2 years and have not been able to get one coral happy I believe I have to much light or flow is wrong I have a maxspec razor 160 for light tops out at about 50% and I have a single mp40 with 2 return heads coming off a mag9 your tank looks great wondering if you have any advice Thanks

Try changing your lighting sequence. I'm not familiar with the settings on a Maxspec but you should be able to modify the color combinations on ramp up and down.

I run a long light cycle too with 4 T5s. 2 actinic, 1 pink and 1 daylight. The atinics come on around 5:30 am & I turn the other 2 on at around 7:30 am. I normally turn off the pink and daylight at around 6 pm and let the timer shut off the atinics at around 8:30 pm. I also have a sump with a compact fluorescent that runs 24/7 and caulerpa.

What are your parameters like? What types of coral do you have?

I have been keeping a tank for about 4 years now last year I upgraded to a 92 corner at that point I added in a couple leathers since then I have never had success with them opening ever I have upgraded lights do water changes 10% every 2 weeks use coral pro salt, feel that I run all the best equipment but can't get it right

Mag 9 return currently dialed by valves to 50% yesterdY 2 1 inch returns 2 1" from overflow
Mp40 50% on reef Crest*
Apex control*
Razor max spec 160 running 60- 70% max*
20 gallon sump*
15 gallon refugium stocked w cheto deep sand bed 4"
Sca 301 skimmer*
Ato topping of with kalk 3/4 tablespoon per gallon

Parameters of water are*
Salinity 1.025
Alk 8-9dkh
Calc 450*
Mag 1350
I test w elos and salifert and api as a secondary measure Red Sea coral pro salt
Every 2 weeks 10 gallon change

EstBlished tank for 4 yrs*

No other eliments other such as ammonia nitrate etc.

My corals are limited*
1 finger leather*
1 toadstool*
1 frogspon
1 candy can*
1 rock with rodica mushroom*

I can not figure it out I am at wits end I just want to be able to add some corals and have them thrive any help would be greatly appreciated

My biggest problem with mine is getting good flow. I have 4 circulation pumps, all at different levels to try and keep flow in and around my live rock. I have a lot of rock, as you can see.

I don't do water changes religiously either. When I do one it's usually around 30-40 gallons. I also don't use RO/DI yet.

I've noticed softies don't do as well in pristine water conditions. I have a mixture of softies, LPS & SPS, mostly LPS.

I'd add a couple more decently sized circulation pumps. The odd shape of a corner makes it difficult to aim pumps to get good flow.

Also, I feed LRS Reef Frenzy. It's all I use for everything in my tank. After I started using it my corals took off. It feeds corals, inverts and fish. By far, the best prepared food I've ever used and all I buy.
