There is no frame on the tank. Top of stand under tank is plywood smooth sanded with 220 grit sandpaper then 3 coats of polyethylene.Did the tank come with a bottom black plastic trim? How smooth is the top of the stand (under the tank). If it has some imperfections, I would put a thin layer of foam or neoprene in between the glass and wood
Im sure u could get away with laying that tank directly on that stand. There is no frame on the tank. Top of stand under tank is plywood smooth sanded with 220 grit sandpaper then 3 coats of polyethylene.
There is 1/4" clearance around each nut on the bulk head.Im sure u could get away with laying that tank directly on that stand.
Question, how the hell did u get the 2 bulk head in and tight?
nice! U did a really clean job on the stand! Are you using sand or going bare bottom? Also r u painting the back of the tank? There is 1/4" clearance around each nut on the bulk head.
Thanks. A lot of over engineering went into the stand. It will have a sand bottom (I think). No paint on the back. The only thing I don't like about the tank is you can see the pipes in the overflow from the side.nice! U did a really clean job on the stand! Are you using sand or going bare bottom? I love how the tank sits down into the stand...good job.Thank you. This was my first stand build. I tried to everything right. Being a engineer helps. The tank is fine sitting directly on the stand.....and the stand does look niceI love how the tank sits down into the stand...good job.
