Well, I have been a member on here for a little while but have not been very active. Why, I don't know because I come here alot. Anyway, After life issues and a few other bumps in the road, I broke down all the way until one of my enabling friends donated a 40b for me to set up. To make a really long story short, I have been searching for a 93 cube for over 5 years now. None of the LFS' could order and shipping would have killed me. Everyone who had them, wanted to keep them and the ones that were for sale were 50 billion dollars. Well, I found one on a local forum that a guy had for sale. After talking with him a few times, I was able to score the BRAND NEW, NEVER SEEN WATER, 93 cube for a 40b set up.

I wanted to take my time with this set up and do it right...go slow and not rush the set up. So here I will share a bit of the build with everyone here.

Tank: Marineland 93 cube 30x30x24
Lighting: Maxspect G2 170w LEDs
Sump: Standard 29g
Return Pump: Deep Blue Triton 5 (soon to be mag 12 or 18)
Skimmer: ASM G2, still awaiting pump
Water Flow: Korolias on wavemaker...MP40 Soon, (birthday present I hope)
Stand was built by me, with white wood and stained "red oak"

Here are some photos of the build now.

I made two sides of the stand with single doors. They remove completley so that you don't have to work around them.

After a few coats of finish, I then moved on to the sump. It no baffles in it and was really dirty. After a nice scrubbing, the baffles were added. I had to get creative on the size of each chamber because I have very little room under the stand. Because of the tank size, and the size skimmer you need, you pretty much don't have room for any type of decent refugium. IF you will also notice, I added linoleum to the stand floor and it was all sealed. Plumbing is all hard plumbed.

I also built a small electronic cabinet that will house the DJ strip and the reef keeper unit (when I get one). I don't know what the heck happened to the build pics but here are a few of the inside of it. The part that has the air pump in it will house chemicals. The ATO (10g) tank, will sit behind the stand on the floor. It will operate off an AVAST Ato.

Gosh I am a slacker. I can't find the dag dim sand and rock pics either. Anyway, the sand and rock are in, all dry, and the water is in the tank now. I will snap some pictures of the tank tomorrow with the light on and will get some pics of the light as well. I will also be making a screen top for it as well. I have the screen, just have to get the frame.

Nice build. I'm gonna use some of your ideas for my 60 cube build I plan on doing soon.
Keep the pics coming.
Mike

Its a maxspect G2 170w. I am trying to find a trade for a smaller fixture so I will have the option to have a canopy down the road. My tank is 30" and the fixture is 30.5"

Puts out a TON of light. If I can't find a trade, I'm going to change out some of the led pucks to get more of a 15-20k when all the lights are on.
