I use a Nikon DSLR - either the D610 full-frame or the D200 cropped sensor. For lens, I have a Nikkor 17-55mm F/2.8, but I just got a new wide-angle Nikkor 20mm F/1.8 that I'll probably use as well going forward.

The tank looks fantastic of course. Your old tank was great too. It's interesting to see how you went from being zoa/paly crazy to this. I'm still trying escape the mixed reef to something that has this much of a theme. I too would love to see a video of this since I no longer live 15 minutes from you. Something along the lines of that old reef videos video from way back when..

Yeah, i've had every zoanthid out there and then some lol! Anyone remember PPEs? I wonder if zoa aficionados today know the significance of what that one purple with green mouth Caribbean paly did for the hobby and for named/branded corals in general.

VIDEO coming .....will try and polish the glass today and shoot something. The D610 supposedly shoots amazing video, they say.

Lighting graph? like a spectrogram? not a clue! But hopefully this can shed some light:

• All lights on at 1:30pm; off at 10:30PM (9hrs total)
  • No dimming effect (A350s are not controllable)
  • Tank receives FULL sun from 6AM to 10AM (varies during the year)
• Both A350s run at 50% blue and 30% whites (approx)
  • If it's a cloudy day outside I will turn down the whites to 5% to mimic real-world
  • Even though the A350s have been replaced by the A360s, the A350s are exceedingly powerful lights. Not one complaint for a tank of this specific biotope with such light-demanding corals
  • Coral growth is intense (exponential more like it) so likely will have to purchase a third A350 or even a 360 in the next year or so to help penetrate deeper to the sandbed to ensure enough PAR reaches those corals that need it

If you're looking for gorgonians KP Aquatics out of Florida usually has them. I'm not sure if they're being affected by the Red Tide right now. I'm pretty sure they mariculture them. I've seen photos of their plot in the keys where they are growing corals and livening (???) rock (taking rock, putting it in the ocean and harvesting it later when it's full of good critters).

Great looking reef! Yay! Another source of inspiration for me. I love R2R member MJC'c MikeC's Softy Tank and now this one. Love the natural look and all the movement of the gorgonians and soft corals. I have been on the lookout for gorgs and softie frags to populate my nano, which will seed the new 125 - if I ever get it started. Thanks for posting the photos and videos.

Yeah - hit up KP Aquatics - that is the source for when I picked up some. Good company, shipped very well, no leaks, boxed up nice and firm. Follow up later asking how everything is, etc.

Time for a 2019 update! ...nothing much has changed beyond aquascaping in a few areas and adding a webcam. Also strong and steady growth, as in previous years. Most gorgs are overgrown and will be trimmed back very soon (I kept them nice and large specifically for this photo set)
