there is a lot of diy in this setup Icut down two twenty longs to make the display witch is 12x12x12, the sump is 18x12x12. Boath tanks are covered with lids to prevent evaporation . There is a positive force DIY gravel vac skimmer that also contains about 1 tablespoon of biopellets witch dose a decent job of skimming and adds oxygen to system since it has the lids. There is an algie turf scrubber where the water overflows into the sump that does a great job and is fairly easy to maintain the return pump to the main tank is a maxijet 900. The lights above the display are 18"t5 with two stunner strips for now but hope to add a par38 eventually .
Thanks revhtree I started out with a 5.5 gallon tank when I began this hobby moved up to twe
nty gallon tanks but they never really did as well as my smaller tank. So I decided to downsize . hopefully this tank will be as nice as my old 5.5 gallon
Thanks stubb86 and Lilmatty5dimes, I've got just about all the corals and fish I want for this tank only have a couple more inverts to add then I can sit back and let everything grow in for a while.
added a pro aquatics skimmer to the system today powered by a maxi jet 900 . The skimmer should help out to remove extra nutrients from the system after I clean the algae scrubber while the scrubber screen is growing new algae.
