Hi All......First some back story. A couple of weeks ago, while I was away on vacation, my tank had a cooling system problem (it was accidentally unplugged by the house sitter, which is my fault for not having the cord clearly marked and/or hidden behind the tank). The tank got to be probably around 95 degrees and was definitely over 90 degrees for three days. I lost a showpiece frogspawn, acans, xenia, and some blasto. All other corals have since recovered (my montipora and Duncan actually seem to be doing amazing, weird what a blast of heat can do). My question is about my Birdsnest coral. Upon returning from vacation it was pure white, but the polyps were all out, so I left it in the tank. The birdsnest coral is still pure white, but the polyps seem healthier than ever and are an amazing bright green. What is going on with the white skeleton? Is it a slower healer than my other coral (Kryptonite and teal candy canes, mushrooms, Kenya tree, lobo, wellso, zoa/paly, green slimer SPS)? Thank you for looking.

Probaly got bleached out. Sounds like it might survive.

Thank you, I figured as much with the healthy looking polyps, I just feel much better with another person saying it too:smile:.....I wasn't sure if I should be doing anything else to help it, I really didn't want to break it from the rock....I'll keep a close eye on it.

Sounds like it should be fine. Never had that happen with a birds nest, but I cranked up my lights once and bleached my hammer. It took three months to get color back and now it looks great.
