Up until recently I have been able to keep my dkh at 8 and calcium at 420 by dosing 5ml each of Seachem alkalinity and Calcium. Recent SPS additions plus the fact that coraline algae is really starting to take off means that my levels this week were 6.4 and 390. Taking the positives, this has got to be a good thing but it is also going to get quite expensive as I add more SPS.
Bearing in mind that I am manually dosing at the moment until I can sort myself a dosing pump, what are the more cost effective ways of keeping my dkh and calcium levels where they should be?

Anything liquid is going to cost more. If your local sources sell seachem, you might start by trying the dry stuff and mixing it yourself, so you aren't paying for water and shipping. They may also sell bulk Sodium bicarbonate and calcium chloride.

I see you're in the UK, I know aquaforest is popular in Europe. Might be worth just moving to a 3 part balling solution and a dosing pump. That is also much cheaper if you mix it yourself instead of buying the pre-made liquids.

I was using brs 2 part for a long time. It's not that expensive, but I honestly got tired of dosing every day and if you forget a day you screw things up for the next few doses. I broke down and bought a calcium reactor. Once it was dialed in I check it once a week and make ph adjustments in the reactor to adjust for more uptake of calcium and alkalinity. Plus i have magnesium in the reactor so it maintains all 3. Best investment for the hobby I ever made, other than my skimmer lol
