A Copperband with Tangs?? Can it be successful

IMO there are better sources than your first choice. Want from someone who takes the time to make sure they are eating and have been pre-quarantined. Many many CBB's die shortly after introduction, even though at first glance they seem fine, due to collection methods. Just saying.

In my tang gang I have a kole (3”) a purple (3”) and a powder blue (5 1/2”). All get along great! I want to add some more fish and a copperband is on my wish list but I’m not sure how it will do with the tangs. Was wondering if anyone would like to share their experience. I have read yellow tangs and cbb don’t do well together so I’m on the fence at the moment
I dont have a CBB because they can be so finicky in eating but I do have a saddleback butterfly fish with my tang gang! (Purple, blue, yellow, and soon a PBT thats in QT). My butterfly does very well with them and when they chase him he tends to swim away really fast then dart at the aggressor. He is a great butterfly I would highly recommend! Doesnt touch corals unless food falls on them. Just in case you want to look at other butterfly fish instead! This is my saddleback, Dash ☺️

I would make sure to QT the cbb and know it is eating very well before adding. I added one with a solo yellow tang and it gave the cbb a nice gash. The cbb was eating very well and recovered. The yellow got rehomed. (for $35 just prior to hawaii ban .

This goes back even to when I had 3 tangs and a CBB along with 2 angels a while back

I think the key is just having multiple tangs to diffuse that aggression along with angels and other fish that can hold their own

But if you have a peaceful setup with 1 tang the CBB might have issues - esp with a yellow
