Ok. I'm setting up a tank for the first time. 45g DT w/ 30G Sump

Do I add my marco algae in the sump after I cycle the tank?
If I'm adding live rock from my lfs (less than 20min away) will my tank actually cycle?
Should my in-sump Skimmer be running during the cycle process?

I would just go ahead and add the macro when you set it up also the macro will help limit how bad the bad algae will get in the tank. Yes it will still cycle even if the live rock comes out of a tank across the room one way to lessen the cycle time is to get half your volume of water from a tank that is a year old or older that's a trick I have used in the past with live rock out of a tank across the room. Lol I would run the skimmer because if you do get die off from the live rock the skimmer will filter out the dead stuff and you will be growing algae in the tank and it will help filter that out as well
