I have a Canon T4i and occasionally borrow the Canon 100mm Macro lens from the photography dept at the college I work for. Here are a couple pics from my most recent serious photo shoot.

Sorry to see the red bugs, best of luck getting them out. Great photos btw!

LOL! I've had them since I set the tank up. When I put my mind to it I'll treat the tank and they'll be gone, easy as that.

Thanks everyone. These are the best pictures I've taken so far. More practice and I might be able to compete in some of these awesome contests around here.

Some very nice Macro shots indeed Duane, and those are not 'Red Bugs' they're just live food for the Pipefish you haven't bought yet...lol
I finished my light repair today and nearly ready to assemble canopy so maybe have time to play with my Macro Lens before I forget your lessons.

Cheers, Todd

Cool shots!

TJ, You've gotten me thinking. Do mandarins/dragonettes also eat red bugs?

Thanks Todd. I'm getting things ready for the big frag swap coming up this month. Better skip the pictures and work on your canopy.

Trido,
Can you post the setting you used to shoot picture? I have similar set up. thanks

Trido,

Each picture varies a little bit. I have a cheap tripod so I set my camera on a 10 second delay. ISO at 200. I shoot in RAW for more photo shop capability. Then I use manual F-stop set low to get more of the coral in focus and adjust the shutter speed accordingly. I shoot five or six pictures of each coral with different shutter speeds so I can choose the best ones. I hope that helps a bit.

Awesome pictures, next psas meeting you should do a photography lesson
