A few questions about lights from a light newb

Hey
Looking for a light for a 20 gallon long , as i read light descriptions it says to have a glass or acrylic top to prevent water splash , I also see people say not to use a top for a reef tank . Im on a budget and not sure what to do . I cant hang a light , looking for a clip on or over the top light . So how do i prevent light getting wet without a top ?

I’ve always used covers without concerns
Ideal would be a used Ai hydra 26 on the R2R marketplace

I don't have a top. If you have a shallow tank or high powered lights you can mount them high enough to avoid the splash. I'm 16 inches off the water with my Orpheks and they stay clean.
