Hi, was wondering if someone can help me out.

First off, what is this? It was sold as a torch. Most torches Ive seen are much longer. Some of the heads look a little hammerish to me.

Second, the color? Is it possible some corals are just brown and dull in color. I really dont remember what this looked like when I bought it, but im sure it looked better or it probably wouldnt have caught my eye. I think it was pretty green.

Its in a fluval evo and was under the stock light for a while which I know isnt the best. Its now under a Current marine IC. Again not the best but from my understanding, better than the stock. Its just shy of a month under new light.

Is it possible for this to one day be colorful again? Its growing just no color. All my parameters are where they should be. I dont check everything, like magnesium, which I read aids in color.

Any ideas?

There are gold Hammers. If you think the color is washed out maybe move it to a different location in your tank. They like moderate lighting and medium water flow.

Cool. Any thoughts on helping it color up?

Looks like an orange hammer. I have my green hammer under pretty intense light and no color loss. Typically it seems they just dont extend as far under high light.

I bet under actinic it looks sweet, orange inder white light is never as cool
