Hey guys, I finally have my QT up and cycled. My QT is a 39 gallon bare bottom, I'm doing hypo in my QT as I felt this approach might help me a little better being so new to the hobby! so now my main question is... how many fish should I have in QT at one time?
My other questions are:
If I'm running hypo it's it necessary to have it bare bottomed? I know if I use live sand it will just kill off the benefits of the live sand and or live rock, correct?!
Also, using hypo, how long should the fish remain in QT?!

I just hate looking at such a naked tank!
Any advice on using hypo over other methods and vise versa will be greatly appreciated :)

I prefer to have only a few fish in QT at a time.If one gets sick you will have less animals to treat.
I would add crushed coral to maintain pH.Your fish will feel more comfortable with rock work and visual barriers.
Hypo systems seem to be gentle on the fish. You can always carefully add copper if needed.I know you don't want to leave fish in hypo too long.I can't give you a time frame though.
