A fish in the hand?

What’s with certain fish sellers posting pics of the fish in their hand? It doesn’t seem necessary to me and while I’ve seen retailers with gorgeous fish for sale this way it gives me pause about how the fish are being treated.

I can understand the negative gut reaction but compared to all the stresses these fish have gone through in the week before finally getting to our tanks I think holding the fish for a quick pic is nothing.
