A funny thing happened in my tank

So, since my tank has been fallow almost 76 days, I've had to take pains to make sure the cuc is taken care of. When I feed the anemone, I have to feed the peppermint shrimp a small pc of shrimp as well. Today, I fed hermits a pc of shrimp pellets. Then, as I'm also trying to get the symphillia to respond to food, I put a couple pellets in its valleys for when it expands after lights out.

I'm watching, and I see the pellet floating over the side and down. I think darn, I have all but one wavemaker off and both returns off. Then I see that one of the amphipods is stealing the food and takes it into one of the crevices!

So tonight, I feed my sun corals, try to feed the symphillia to no avail and see all these pods coming out of the rockwork. I squirt some frozen brine/mysis into the crevice and they go nuts.

Had no idea they too would eat what I fed, aside from coral foods. I do use the tinier foods to broadcast for corals and pods.

Never would have thought of the pods as entertaining in that manner!

My overflow chamber is full of pods and feather dusters and bristle worms I love watching in there !

You could feed phytoplankton to your tank and your pods and coral will love you. Algae Barn has a neat premeasuring container.

@Katrina71 I used that when I first put pods in. Will get some more! I usually feed a combo of Coral frenzy & reef roids a couple times a week, another day I use marine snow. Sometimes I dump in mix of some rotifers (sp?) and oyster fest? Small frozen foods.
