OK , its another phyto post but you really need to check this one out. Eric at Algagen has the stuff. They infuse their phyto w zooxanthellae. What is that I asked , only the single algae needed for corals w a symbiotic relationship w algae . in other words its what keeps SP's from bleaching and even if you have one that is this certain algae is what they need to come back from it. I'm no sales person or scientist , just a fellow reefer who found this stuff and in one week of daily use have seen awesome results. So I called them, found out some info, that is backed by Noaa, and talked to the guy. He said by tomorrow they will have gallon containers of it for a single price. The small bottle of straight zoo. was kind of high but worth it, so now you can get you're phyto w it at a real good price. The one thing I've learned is phyto isn't just phyto, and SP's as well as photosynthic corals need this. Other corals benefit as well. Well reefers that's what I've seen and learned so wanted to pass it on. If interested go to www.ALGAGEN.com. His name is Eric and easy to talk to. Happy reefingmm

Can you elaborate on the results you’ve seen since using this?

Sure my wife purchased a bottle brush that was sloughing and turning brown. After using the zooxanthellae for a week it has come back more beautiful than ever, no more sloughing and it's turning purple again. We also have a purple ribbon that has grown noticeably. The other corals (giant slit pore gorgonian, a red and a yellow finger gorgonian) are all looking better and have better polyp extension. Here are a few pictures.

This next one is I saved off the purple ribbon, glued it to a rock, and it has grown 1/8 to 1/4" in the last week and look at the polyps!

That would make sense given they are gorgs and benefit from feedings. Any similar results with other types of corals?

Unfortunately, since this is a newish tank, we have not purchased any other corals yet. This product does say it is specific to SPS, so we can't wait to try it with some.

Thanks for the tread and link. I just placed an order. How big is your tank and how much are you dosing?

Yeah, I work for a shop where I handle a bulk of the ordering, Alagen carries some reaaaaaaaaally good stuff. Got in some Tisbe copepods as well, things are selling like battery powered air pumps during a blackout.

Her tank is a 54 gal w a 26 gal sump. I was skipping their morning phyto and giving pure zoo at one cap per 10 gal. I got those results w that manner but ran out n a week. That's why I called them for dosage and was told of the phyto infusion. I feed the corals a dose of phyto early morn, that's what I changed, and I feed a mixture if roids w coral frenzy and a shot of selcon and you can see the results.

Honestly can't wait to get a few SP's as well as a dendro. With this stuff I can only imagine the outcome. Very excited and thanks for reading
