Yeah 5 guys is very expensive. My buddy always buys when im in town and I do the same when he comes back my way so i luck out there hahah.

I wish we had a LFS like that near us.

The worker at Animal kingdom was very passionate about the SW section for sure. They have a bunch of corals and some tanks of fish. I need to get back out there and see him. Way better experience there than petco was when I thought they were the only place in watertown.

I drove out to syracuse area today to check out ABC Reefs. What an AWESOME store. The place had inwall tanks everywhere and a few set up here and there like you would in your home. Every tank was beautiful and looked extremely healthy! I felt a bit uneasy being in there, like i was walking around in a strangers house, not a reef store lol! But thats what i mean, it was so clean and neat. All done in painted drywall and multiple rooms. No isles of stacked tanks. It was just awesome! I almost asked the guy if i could take pictures of the inside of the store! The prices were great too. Even on their dry goods. Can't wait to go back

I'm going to check out abc reefs2 tomorrow. I will be in Syracuse to look at a truck so I'm stopping in on the way home. Hopefully will pick up. Coral or 2

Awesome! If ABC Reefs 2 is anything like ABC Reefs, i think you are in for a treat! I was going to check it out today as well! But, my thursday plans have been moved to today, so i won't be making the trip. Let me know what you think of the place!

Also, thank you about my tank. Hopefully this summer is the summer that it gets filled up

. I ended up spending all day at summit cars waiting for all the paperwork to get done and didnt get the free time to go check it out

I will be planning a trip back very soon to see that and check out the mall expansions. We did eat at 5 guys though

Glad you made it ABC. ABC Reefs is the nicer of the two shops and has been established longer. ABC Reefs 2 is about a year old and is getting up to speed.

I do have two gripes about location 2.
1) They aren't as diligent on keeping certain fish in separate tanks, a space issue more than anything. I've pulled on e of them aside numerous time to tell them that they need to get a certain fish out of a tank before it is bullied to death.

2) Their coral tanks and frag system is infected with aiptasia. They have some nice pieces at low prices, but I would end up killing half of it to get the aiptasia.

Make sure you guys get a chance to check out the Reef Room in Rome. Chris is running a sale right now with some killer stock.

Thanks for the info Elysium. I plan on heading out to see Chris one of these days. Since he is on my weekly commute to work, i'm thinking about waiting until i'm off vacation and seeing if i can set up an appointment with him on a friday night on my way back home.

New T5 lights should be arriving tomorrow. Got a new stock of CUC today. New RO/DI filters yesturday. Been a fun week. Of course i wasn't too happy playing email tag with the company i bought my filters from. My DI canasters are refillable, and they sent me regular 10" DI filters. Email after email, trying to explain my setup vs what they sent me, he finally says, "oh yeah, you have to take apart the filter cartridge and use the DI resin in your refillables"... Pull my hair out already! Why not say that on your site or say that to begin with? When you advertise a complete filter replacement kit, that kind of info may be somewhat important. I did get the darn filter cartridge apart, but i wouldn't expect everyone to have the tools or strength to get into one of those babies... Never buying from that site again!
