The floor in my small apartment can take at most 41 pounds per square foot (200 kilos per square meter).
I can build a base to spread the weight of the aquarium(s) over a larger area, and achieve a 1450 lbs total weight limit.

I really can't decide between:
  • WaterBox FRAG 105.4 AND MARINE X 60.2 connected to the same sump.
  • Waterbox FRAG 145.5 with no future expansion possible.
I've gathered a bit of Pros and Cons.
Can someone with a good amount of experience help me decide which solution would be the best in the long term?
I know many end up wanting a second tank, for example.

I'm not very experienced, but I'm avid reader and researcher (of reef gear and science, rather than controversial and divisive livestock requirements).
PROS
CONS
WaterBox FRAG 105.4 + MARINE X 60.2
  • could use the MARINE X 60.2
    • as a display refugium;
    • as a smaller tank to more easily broadcast feed sun corals;
    • for a clownfish harem w/ BTAs;
    • potentially for seahorses;
    • for non-reef-safe fish (Dwarf angels?);
  • FRAG 105.4 is a 4ft tank - could house at most a yellow or purple tang, if any tang at all.
  • cabinet space of the FRAG 105 is much more cramped in comparison to FRAG 145.5.
  • harder to house a pair of mandarins (Tank bred)
Waterbox FRAG 145.5
  • could house a pair of mandarins (tank bred) more easily.
  • FRAG 145.5 is a 5 ft tank - could house a sailfin tang potentially?
  • If I go for a refugium, it's gonna be a small one.
  • No dedicated space to broadcast feed sun corals.

I’m thinking about combining my two tanks in a corner of the room; one stand,sump, system, et. Corners are beefier anyway… I was thinking custom 90 degree stand …
anyway plan looks decent
