Today in my daily inspection i noticed a little bleeching around the edges of a few corals. My jedi mind trick seems to have the most, one side of the coral is normal he other is completly bleeched. Then my starburst monti was cut like a cube and it started to incrust on the plug but is seems some corners are bleeched out almost white. does any one have any clue what could be going on?

My test as of yesterday where all normal p04 a little high cal at 500, alk at 10 and mag at 1400? could it be the alk at ten?

I have come to the conclusion that the high cal is only high because of my sualt. I run a little higher salanity and my salt (oceanic) seems to be up to par with all there levels, so in return running high salt makes them go up a tad. Any other saggestiong of why they might bleech?

Have you changed your bulbs recently?

Its been about 8-10 month and there t5

About when should you get new bulbs for t5's?

Im no expert but have you checked for bugs? possible the monti nudi?
How big are they ? i mean i inspect everything everyday im home and never seen anything like those.

as far as the bulbs......12 months max for t5.....i went past 13 and my corals bleached out bad.......faded and looked transparent.........after i got new bulbs the colors grew back after 3-4 weeks

How big are they ? i mean i inspect everything everyday im home and never seen anything like those.
im not sure of size but not to big my friend had a monti nudi breakout i know they start in corners of colony's from what he said as there was dead skeleton they can take out colonys but i hear the worst of it all is removing the eggs (im sry to scare you with this but i would pay close attention to the ones not lookin to hot)! My friend would dip the colony then glue over the dead parts!

Dip it in what? i have some logols iodine what is the water to drip ratio and for how long? Do you think i should take this action now?

Both corals you mentioned are montis. Coinsidence? I had monti eating nudies a few years ago and was similar to what you are experiencing. I would dip the coral, and scrape the dead parts and where I found eggs with a needle, then basted them clean. I only lost one monti, so there is hope. If you are experiencing the problem only in montis and it is a fast regression you can bet that it is nudis.

Like i said before i dont know much about the monti nudi's i never had to deal with them my friend did i would suggest googling it cuz by the time i figure out everything you have to do it might be a couple of days LOL my friend just had a kid! There white and hide like no other so i would forsure take action quick as they lay eggs like crazy! Another ? the monti's affected are they all skeleton on the corner's if so im pretty sure there them!
