First off..can filefish, be mixed in a tank...second, now considering there eyesight is poor, and listed as a beginner fish.......snow flake eel, i know that theres always that chance of bad behavior, some thoughts please.

Thnxs

Snowflakes are hardy but eat a lot of fresh whole foods which means they produce a lot of fresh whole tyrds and so require rigorous maintance to keep their tanks healthy. They are also long lives and grow longer and thicker over time and are best housed in a larger tank to accomodate their adult size while minimizing the impacts of their feeding requirements on water changing. Some individuals are very agressive feeders or defenders of their lair's and other fishes and people with their hands in the tank may suffer the bite of this behavior, but generally snowflakes are aptly named.

Filefish don't seem to attract the wrath of other community species so that tanks, clownfish, and wrasses generally tend to leave them alone, but not always. They have been good community fishes in fish tanks but sometimes have been known to pick at clam, LPS, blastos and other corals when those are available. They sometimes eat aiptasia which most people consider a good thing, but like all fish the average behavior isn't always the end of the range, meaning each fish will perform as it will. In general, the file fish have a reputation for good behavior towards other fishes, ime.

But you never can tell what is actually going to happen unless you happen to know the fish before you bring them home to live.
