So it's summer in the Caribbean and with that comes the need to cool the aquarium. I saw that the tank temperature had started to stabilize in the 83-84 range so I pulled out my little trusty old fan and set it up this morning. The temp had gotten up to 84.5. I plugged in the fan and set it up on the edge of my 55 to blow across the entire length of the water surface. An hour later I checked and it has dropped to 81.6. A 3 degree drop in an hour is pretty sweet in my opinion! What is your way of cooling your tank in the warmer months? Photos are always appreciated!

Great information, thanks. In upstate NY cooling isn't that big a problem, we have central ac. But I AM cheep, and don't keep set it too much below 75. Tank temps can creep up higher than where I set them at 78.

Yep I run two little cpu fans with halides in a canopy. At first it wasn't working well. I have them exhausting through the top. Well I cracked the front of the canopy a hair and now it works great, the canopy was sealed up tight enough they couldn't get good flow through the space. It cut the temp swing down quite a bit. Stays in the 74-78 range now. Before it was going from 74 to 83 even cycling the lights on and off.
