A little help on ID

We have this growing in our Zoas and I'm trying to get an idea of what it is and if the webbing it spews would hurt my corals

I'm not sure if you can see its webbing or whatever coming out of the top, a good 4-6 inches

Is it a vermetid?

Maybe make the zoas close up and take the picture again.

Edit: I type so slowly. Renee beat me to it.

Could be a vermetid snail. I like to watch them catch particles on the web and then reel it in.

I've only had a few and they disappeared on their own. Other folks have had problems with them.

You two nailed it, I'm pretty sure that's it. Any advice? Like keep it or kick it out? It seems like most advice is to get rid of it because of the mess it makes

He's right there accessible, if you want glue/putty him off. I have a number of the small variety in my tank. I watched them closely, as they seemed to reproduce quickly at one point. Then they stopped and found their balance in the system. I wouldn't go through any great efforts to remove a vermetid that wasn't being problematic.
