:squigglemouth: Ok theres a couple of things that are going on in my tank. First of all I have a yellow frog spawn that suddenly got a " brown jelly" it was 2 heads now it has lost one head and seems that the "brown jelly" is moving to the other head. When i noticed it on the first head I did dip it in revive with no success it seems. THe second thing is that I have a wall torch that seems to not doing to well. seems that it is really ticked off.

the second thing is that i have a conch that just creates havic, by that i mean it runs in to everything. The problem with this is i noticed that it would run into a brian coral i have and I would see something shooting out of its mouth. I also notice that the skelton is showing threw in a couple of places. Will in tim this heal and could what ever it was releassing have effected the torch and frogspawn?

I do have other corals in the tank like, Blastos, Mushrooms, zoas, paly, a small frag of purple monti and a clam. They all seem to be doing good.

I will fill you in on levels and equipment now

I have a 34g solana, has been running for about 2Running months , an mp10, radion lighting, The stock protein skimmer and an auto top off (filled with R/O) I do use polly pads, charcoal, GFO, and i placed rock rubble under all of these in the center chamber in the back of the tank.

Levels are

temp 78.1 + - very liitle

saltinty 1.026

amonia 0

nitrite 0

nitrate <=20

Phosphates .2

mag 1410

alk 8.6

I did realize that the nitrate was a little high. I do a 5 gallon water change ounce a week religously and clean that sand very well at this time.

The lighting i am still dialing in as many folks probally are. I just start using the program that one person was nice enough to share under radion light on R2R. My question on this program is the lights only go down to 5% and night with only using deep blue. Should the light go out or is that fine for moon light.

As far as the conch goes i move everything up off the sand bed and have addd a frag rack and all frags are on that now so he can continue to do his job. Which he does very well.

Any advice would be great.

I hope i have supplied info to figure out if i am doing things right or am i in danger of losing more.:ooh:

Sorry you're having problems! I'm sure these guys and gals can help ya out around here!

I hope so i am worried that i am gunna lose more stuff like some really nice acans that i just bought

Brown jelly has the nasty habit of spreading and IME dips won't do anything to stop the spread between heads on a colony of euphyllia. I would use some coral shears to clip the head with brown jelly off and remove it from the tank. Make sure that the surviving head of frogspawn has some flow blowing over it, but make sure that it isn't getting blasted by too much current or else the flesh will completely remove from the skeleton. Brown Jelly is a bacterial infection that can be brought on by a variety of stressors including high nitrates, stinging from other corals, and damage from other tank inhabitants. I wouldn't be too worried about the skeleton showing on your brain coral. They are pretty hardy and will be able to recover in time. Continue to do small water changes to get your nitrates under control and you may want to consider moving the brain to a shaded area with little flow so that it has a chance to heal. Best of luck!

Sorry you're having some issues. :( Here is what I think. The brown jelly is a bacterial infection. You can do a furan 2 dip: 4 packets per 15 gallons of salt water in a 5 gallon bucket- repeat every 3 days. I would dip your torch and your hammer. The hammer might not make it if it's already deteriorated too far. Some things that can cause it could be they are stressed because of the nitrates which are pretty high. Also, if they are in too low of light, they might start to not do well and become susceptible to disease. Also, you should really be using RO/DI to get out extra impurities in the water unless your RO has less than 1 TDS and has zero phosphates. That will help keep your water pure and free of metals that could be in normal RO water. Metals can also stress out corals.
