Look at this way,...you have a great light with an excellent service record. The "new" light may prove to be not as good as the old design. New does not always mean better. [emoji3]

With them being the same price they can't be changing that much, corporation are takers not givers lol. But I had the same thought and shared it in the thread marine depot started. I reserved one of the new ones, I'm going to give it a try.

Yeah, 25 more for HD colors, interface and everything else looks exactly the same, of the top of my head I can't remember they changed the diode count.

I think the major difference is the ability to divert power from lesser used LED's. For example if the red LED is being utilized at 20%, the remaining 80% is available to be used by other colors. I'm sure that's an oversimplification and I could be wrong but that's how I read it.

Actually, your pretty spot on, the HD version will be 55w and you can take unused power from one color to another up to 20% being able to take color intensity to 120% on certain channels.

I learned this from a call to AI, although he couldn't tell me how much more power it drew from the wall.

All in all, I'm not sure it's worth the upgrade for me.
