Hi, I'm a little worried with my IM 25 gallon tank, it is my first saltwater tank. I recently have been having major problems with hair algae growing all over the rock and sand and I can't seem to stop it. I'll siphon it then it'll be back the next day. Also recently this redish algae has appeared on parts of my rock and sand. It is very red in the blue light and I can't suck it up with a turkey baster haven't tried a siphon yet. Never really seen just pretty worried for the health of my fish. Please give me information so I can know that to do.

More flow, feed your fish less and lower your lighting. Those are typically the keys to algae issues.

Post your set up. Skimmer, refugium combo will take care of it over time. If you don't have any corals yet don't worry it'll clear up on its own,at least it should. Good news is if you are growing GHA your cycled.

I would not even remove the hair algae it's eating up your nitrates let your tank stabilize at the parameters YOU set. It's about stability not numbers. Don't starve your fish.

Thanks will do

Downing my lights as they are pretty bright all day just to have a bit less algae as well as not trying to remove it everyday to help with the stabilisation as you said
