So im starting over in the hobby :D i am going to do 65gallon display with 30gallon sump. the back corners will have hill of live rock till it is about 1" under the surface and in the center there will be turtle grass and in the front of the mounts and turtle grass i will have shoal grass. the tips of the mounds will have a acro each that is purple. and the rest will be trumpet coral, zoa, mushrooms, fetherdusters, and gorgonias. and the lighting is a 6 bulb t5 ficture or maby LEDs idk. the fuge will have calurpa. the return is a rio and i have a mod maxijet 1200 for flow. im uber excited haha

has anyone used miracle mud because i need to enrich the sand that is going into the tank for the turtle grass to grow. so my question is does it actually help or is it a complete was of money and im not just saying in sea grass but in all macroalgae.

I've not used it, but read plenty of reviews on it. No reviews say its a waste of money, or not a good quality product. I just wanted to make sure that was clear first. I am not so confident in your planned use. This stuff is sold to be used as a de-nitrifying sand bed that replenishes trace elements, encourages pod growth, etc, etc, oh, and I think its supposed to take 10 years off your looks by putting it in the aquarium too, j/k. I'm sure it will serve your purpose, but if you just want dirt plants can grow out of, I"m sure there are less expensive ways to do this, just my opinion.

yeah i read that i can just use a sand bed that is a year old and is 6" deep. i only have about 3" that is 5 years old but i need to add more sand so i thought i would give it a boost with miniral mud. i've also read that i can use plant fertilizer tablets like you would use for a freshwater planted tank but im not too shure on that idea.

I used some miracle mud in my mangrove tank, I couldnt tell you if it helped or not, but I didnt think it would hurt. I would say dont waste the money unless you really want to try it without knowing if it helped or not.

i wouldnt use a whole lot but ive read that it help for the overal tank not just the algaes is that true

There are alot of REEF additives that say alot of great things, But i dont believe half of what they say will actually do anything. I personally dont think it is doing anything, Ive not noticed anything different with my tank or my mangroves after using it

ive started to clean the sump my old equipment and my tank to get ready for setting it back up probably going to move the tank and everything in a few days. first i need to find a place to put the few corals i have and my black clown and my pajama cardinal.
