I am new to this forum and to saltwater in general. I found this in my rock the other day. The only new addition to my tank before I found it was a rose bra. Any ideas. It is smaller than a dime.

Any advice on what it might do to my tank and how to remove it would be appreciated as well.

Thank you

Could be a sponge. Sometimes they have mouths that open and close.

Wow thank you guys for the quick replies. This forum rocks!

It does look a lot like a pineapple sponge but a lot smoother looking than most of the ones I see on Google images. It sounds like they are not harmful so I guess I'll let it go for now it would be very hard to reach it where it is.

I started my tank with dry aquamaxx eco rock so I wonder where it came from?
