Hi! Hopefully this is something simple like a mushroom :-)

But it is something I've never had or noticed in my tank before so I would rather be safe than sorry.

Does it move? From the pictures it looks like a nudi branch maybe? Could you get a better picture

Doesn't move. Seems to be attached. Lays flat. Will try and get a better pic

suppose this isnt much better, but you can make out its edges. Seems round. It is sitting about 2" below where one of my mini-maxi's has been situated for the past couple of years.

Strawberry Anemone?

Almost looks like a St. Thomas mushroom.
I looked up some images and I think you may be correct. Its still small, about the size of a dime...but I do see similar characteristics. Are these pesky mushrooms or am I ok to leave it be?

I have a St. Thomas mushroom in my tank sitting on a frag rack, remind me to post a pic later.;)
Don't evicted the lil' guy ... Its the holidays!!!:p

Hey Sneeze......... my motto is if you didn't put it in your tank it's not meant to be there.
30 years ago a aptasia was a welcome invert as it was free and it stayed alive in many tanks till we found out what it really was without a natural predator to keep it under control.
If you don't trust it I would move it to a QT tank or sump.
You can study it from there.

Actually if it is there, you put it in there somehow, someway but not on purpose, I know that is what you meant. Id it, if not sure then you have 3 choices watch it, remove it, kill it if you can't remove it. I did not purposely put any asterina stars in my tank and still looking at a way to get rid of most of them other than plucking them out one by one and since there is not a LFS near me a Harlequin Shrimp is not a good choice long term as I hear they wipe out the asterina stars fast and then will starve. You have any ideas?

Great post my friend.
Yes I have a awesome solution.
But you have to start your own great thread.

I had completely forgot I had this guy in my tank still. So I got curious and decided to look at it under blues and boy it sure is turning out pretty! Do we still think its a strawberry anemone??
