Hi all. I picked up some new sps frags this week and everything is looking good so far except for the mind trick Monti. It was the slowest to show polyps on the first day, took about 4 hours to show any. . Looked great for two days, but my turban Snails must have knocked him onto the sand bed overnight and he spent the night face down on the sand. I put it back in the same spot, and two days later no polyp signs at all. Could a few hours face down in the sand kill it?

I am hesitant to move it around the tank looking for a better spot because at least I know he was once happy where he was.

It should recover fine. Keep the chemistry stable and try to place it where it can stay upright. IME mind trick took a while to color to begin with.

Thank you for the response! What has your experience with lighting and flow for them? Right now he's med/med because that is where he did first show signs. Just wondering if I should go higher or lower or leave him alone for a few more days.

I would leave him be for now. Sounds like an ideal spot for him. I wish I had older pics to show you but mind trick and undata browned a bit before coloring up. Once the coral acclimated they really took off.

Our mind trick browned out to the point you couldn't tell if it was even alive. It was almost tossed in the trash for dead but I wanted to wait and see what would happen. A few months later it colored up. Be patient. I think it will be just fine

Coral will be just fine. My mind trick likes strong flow and pretty high PAR, around 350+
I never measured par @BoomCorals, I just keep it on the bottom of the tank. It would be interesting to know what kind of par I actually get though. Once mind trick gets going it's a fast grower. The blue rim always attracted me to that coral.

Thank you all! . I was pretty sure it would be OK but that is the only one I added that didn't pop right open so I wasn't positive. Reefing is new to me, obviously patience is key! If my dog stopped moving for two days I'd probably flush him. ;)
