I am not new to the hobby. I started, as most do, as a kid with a FW tank, then on to tanks. After marriage, I decided to start a marine tank. FO at first, then I redid it as a reef tank (75 g.) Added a 40 tall reef after receiving the tank as a gift. Have worked in nursing since 1970, then married and moved to NYC while attending Columbia University. Started working for BCBS a few years later, and stayed there for 15 years. When 1200 of us were laid off in '92, I started a reef setup and maintenance business in Westchester County. Also worked in management of a nursery/garden center for 5 years. Moved back to Maryland to help with my now 93 year old Mom as her nurse/caretaker. Back living with her in my old family home. She's not really into large tanks, and so far we only have a 20 long planted tank. I did talk her into putting in a pond 6 years ago (water lilies and koi). So I'll enjoy reefs through you guys for the time being until she OKs one here.
