A pH tester I really like

which model?

I just thought I'd share with you this apera pH pen tester that I have been using and really enjoy. It has an accuracy of 0.01 which I find very helpful and its not too expensive.

I'm looking for a PH tester and wanted to see if this is still working out for you?

Hanna is actually cheaper and preferred by a lot of people. I’d definitely rather get a Hanna checker if I was in need of buying one or the Hanna pH meter. $70 for a pH meter is expensive when compared to others.

If it sounds too good to be true ....

Honestly I don't believe the stated accuracy, but buy me one and I'll test it against a lab grade double junction probe with NIST traceable calibration. ;)

It is more accurate than the hanna. This one is +/-0.01. The hanna (depending on the model) is +/-0.2 or 0.1

Prove that it is that accurate.

I don't care about manufacturer claims which are useless without proof.

I have a $2000 pH meter that makes a similar accuracy claim and have test results to prove it.

I think that it has that level of resolution, but not that level of accuracy.

I can't prove it because I don't have lab grade equipment nor do I care that much. By this reasoning, should I say the hanna claim is useless since I haven't tested theirs against a $2000 meter, and therefore should trust hanna? Should I also go ahead and say every statement by every manufacturer on the market for all products is useless unless I test it against a more expensive product? You can contact them if you'd like to debate them on this, but all I am saying is hey I found a pH pen that I like and reliably reads the reference solutions within the manufacturers claims after calibrated.

Well, Hanna pH pens are junk and I have tested them. I have two you can have for free.

The only reasonable meter with decent accuracy is the Milwaukee Pro MW 102 and that is simply because the probe itself is very good. I have 3 of the probes monitoring my tank as replacements for OEM probes.
