A QUESTION ABOUT LIGHTNING

My lightning is metal halide.
I wanted to know if this lightning can reproduce uv or not?
If it can whats the effect on corals and other living things.

Metal halides does have uv in them. But if you notice mogul base lamps never have a glass shield under them. Double ended does. Someone told me that you have to use glass to block the uv with double ended. Or maybe I am completely wrong.
