This may be a dumb question, but can acropora and other sps corals be placed close or in contact with each other ?
Most of my experience has been lps and softies . Soft corals are great because they can lay all over each other, but as everyone knows lps are very aggressive. I had a frogspawn and a bubble coral fight and galaxy coral to . My frogspawn was an ******. Back to sps Acros , can the branches intertwine and so on or is a death match ?

Ok makes sense but what of similar species of coral
Example blue milli touching a green milli or any montie touching another montie and so on
Back in the early days I would mix frogspawn with hammer
Would the same apply?

Hmm good point it might work in theory
But it’s your acropora

I have tried montipora and cyphastrea with little success well mostly one got covered by the other..

But which was odd I did have two separate pieces of the same acropora grow into one another

It just depends on the species. My milleporas will kill other acros that touch them. But I had a tortuosa intertwine with a stag and neither one had any die-off. I broke them apart to move them. I have a monti cap, acro Valida and digitata all growing together peacefully.

More often than not, two acros won't get along in my experience. I try to leave enough room between them for growth.
