Hi,
I have had the same live rock since I started this hobby just over 10 years ago. My question is should you replace the live rick after a period of time? It's been through countless algae outbreaks, 1 case of ich (8 years ago).. it's looking pretty warn and I am noticing more algae outbreaks now. I don't overfeed and do daily water changes of 2 gal / day.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thank,
Eric

New rock wouldn’t help algae only make it worse. Plus you can always flip the algae side over and rescape with algae side down
Thanks for the quick reply. That's what I have been doing; flipping the rock over.

If you have been intervening in your tank with things that could reduce he biodiversity the live rock will become less and less useful.

Use the rock you've got
