A quick question about dinoflagellates

So I just started my blackout of my tank to see the dinos reaction. They seem to narrow down ALOT at night. Its day 2 of the blackout and they are just about completelt gone from my sand bed. So my question is, do I have the kind of dino that uses a uv sterolizer to get rid of them? Any help would help me out grratly, thanks

Probably so, but can't tell form your info.
All Dino kinds leave the sand surface in darkness (to some extent). Most go into the water. Some kinds go down into the sand.
Fun fact, cyano and some diatoms are also known to go into the sand at night.
So sand that clears up under darkness really doesn't narrow it down much

Thanks for the responses, I think im going to just try out the uv steralizer along with dosing some dr tims waste away. Im not really sure what im doing

Currently dealing with the same thing. On day two of the blackout while running UV as well. Hope to get the lights back on tomorrow evening. I have some dino x as a last resort, but i really really dont want to get to that. I caught them early this time!
