Anyone else living on a septic tank? I moved to a remote location a year ago and Let me tell you… The struggle is real…

Distilling vs RODI
my lovely wife runs all my water through a distiller for me. It takes 3hrs per gallon! I have 5 small tanks (22g total). I want a RODI unit but I’m worried about 1) our water is pumped from the lake and pressure might not be high enough and 2) too much wasted water going into the septic tank

Water Disposal
I carry all used water up the stairs and dump it outside on the gravel driveway. I’m worried the salt/chemicals/etc will mess up my septic system.

anyone else having as much fun as i am? Lol. Got any tips/suggestions? Am i doing it all wrong?

No need to worry about the septic tank, the water going in, should just leech off(thats what leech fields are for) if your septic is working properly. Otherwise, just hang the hose out a window, and into the driveway(as opposed to lugging buckets).

The pressure issue can be overcome with a booster pump.

The salt and chemicals will have no effect on your septic tank or leach field for that matter. It is a minuscule amount even if you pumped it straight in. Salt will eat concrete slowly but even if you opened it up and emptied your whole tank in it it would show no I’ll effects.

I've never had an issue. Lived in the country my whole life. I do, however, flush my RO into some bushes and pour old salt water out over part of my yard that has crushed rock, I figure it kills some weeds.
