A sad death but what should I do?

I’ve just had a blue cheek goby sadly pass away, I’m unsure of the reason yet and need to do some checks but just wanted to ask this question:

I saw him a few days ago, so I’m not sure how long he’s been dead but I spotted his half eaten body a couple hours ago, presumably from the CuC doing their job.

i can see the cleaner shrimp is currently eating it, and there’s not much left, just the head and some skeletal structure

Do I leave it in and let the cleaner shrimp finish it off, since it’s sat right on top eating right now, or do I shoo the shrimp and remove the remains?

If you can remove it, then remove it. It will just add to your nutrients and could lead to a cyano outbreak depending on how much you feed your tank daily. I wouldn't tear the tank down to do it, but if it's something you can just pick out, then do it.

I would recover it,. I personally like to put all the critters i care for that pass on under the ground.
