Below is a quick timeline I thought I would share of a "success" story that I have recently had. I purchased a frag of ORA Birds of Paradise birds nest (because it's one of my favorites). As seen below looked great for awhile, open and happy.
Fast forward a couple months and I added carbon as a prophylactic measure because my whole house was getting painted. The coral completely bleached within 24hrs, not STN/RTN (hate when people conflate these issues).
A few months later I started to see some color, while it doesn't look like much, but it wasn't completely white.
This is what it looks like today, after a few more months. Growth, color and PE all returning. I hope this trend continues. Overall, I am super happy I was able to save this coral and I hope that it continues to thrive!
Happy reefing! Don't give up on a bleached coral!
