A single huuUUuuge drain line....?

So, bean animal and herbie drains work great because one line is under full siphon, and the other contains air always. Flushing toilet sounds occur when a drain is alternating between these two states.

What about a single huge drain line, like 3 or 4 inches diameter- so it always contains air. Could that be quiet?

Probably. Or several 1.5”-2” lines. I always oversize my drains for this reason. I have 4x 1.5” drains on my 180 and used to run them with nothing fancy, just gravity draining, but it was relatively quiet given the amount of water I was moving. Could have handled it with half the drains but it would have been louder.

After I moved to a new house, the plumbing got more complicated and I had to tee some lines together, and now I run some as siphon since teeing the lines together made things more noisy.
