So, I have been in this hobby for 30+ years and have had many size and shapes of aquariums, as well as every sort of fish. To this day, one of my favorites is the jawfish. I've had at least one in every tank I've owned.
I recently set up a new 75g (taking it easy) after being out of the hobby the past few years. I've always had difficulty finding jawfish at any LFS in my area until a couple of weeks ago. So I picked up a juvie Yellow-Head jawfish. I wanted to have at least two, but that's all they had. After a couple of days, he disappeared on me (which is typical). But after a couple of weeks I just couldn't find him, even looking under rockwork, etc.
At that point I ordered two yellow-heads and just recently added them to the tank. Last night as I was getting a good laugh at where these two decided to burrow, I noticed a 3rd I was not expecting. Looks like my original is still going! I'm very happy about that
It's these moments that make it worth all the work!
