So as I am finishing my water change- while my wife was watching "The Aquarium" that I believe follows the aquarium in Georgia, they were doing a segment on their Whale Shark exhibit. She asks me- how do they do water changes? I laughed and tried to come up with an answer. I know its random- but they must have one heck of a protein skimmer?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Multiple sand filters, multiple foam fractionators(industrial skimmer), and continuous water change.
Most likely

I can tell you the first public aquarium that housed whale sharks located in Okinawa, Japan, used natural sea water. Monterey also uses natural sea water. Obviously Georgia doesn't have that luxury :).
