Sorry to hear about your loss! Did all the fish die? If so I might suspect some kind of disease.

The only fish that survived were my pair of clowns and my leopard wrasse. The tank has been running for over 5-years and never had any fish loss issues other then normal attrition.

I got to believe it was the dying off of the Ritteri anemone either with some sort of toxin release or the high spike of ammonia it must have generated? I am surprised there are not more anemone keepers chiming in???

Speaking of anemonekeepers, I have never left one in a tank when it died, but they can ruin tanks. The poison goes directly to the blood thru gills.

Nor do I. The tank was feed at 4:30pm Friday and then checked again at 9:00am Saturday. As stated I was out of town and had my long time tank sitter look after things. Unfortunately, Uncle Murphy struck and the Ritteri decided to s**t the bed literally overnight. I had it in my tank for well over 1 1/2 years without a single issue. I am ****** to say the least that it decided to die so suddenly.
