I guess it really takes an accident happening to us personally to make you really take caution and be careful.
I was just installing my new Radium bulb and decided to go ahead and clean some saltcreep off of various equipment. Well my lights are suspended above my tank with some type of metal wiring and I had this wire excess hanging behind my tank, where all my electrical stuff is. With me jostling things around the wire got in a socket, turned white-hot in less than a second burnt through some cables, burnt through the plastic trim on my tank and left nasty scorch marks every where else. It actually got so hot that the metal snapped in half and dropped on the carpet. All of this happened in less than five seconds. I'm still shaken up knowing that I could of easily gotten the hell shocked out of me or even started a fire losing everything we have. RIGHT NOW I am going to organize my electrical wiring and cut off the excess metal wiring that caused all this.
I just wanted to share my accident and let others know that it only takes a second to lose things that you've worked on acquiring for years. Take the extra time to do things right and be careful guys.
