Hey everyone I recently added two A160we’s to my 36g bow front. So I can get a general idea I’d like to know what type of schedule you’re running on your tank’s. I searched and whatever info I’ve found was a couple of years old. I thank you for any help that I get!

It all sort of depends on what's in your tank, when you want the light to be on, and how long the light can be on without causing harm to your system (i.e. too much light leads to excessive algae blooms).

I personally have a 20 gallon SPS dominant mixed reef tank so my Maxspect Ethereal runs at ~70% for 10 hours a day. That's what my system needs and can handle.

I have some zoa’s A green leather and a Favia. Previously I had an orbit marine that would ramp up starting at 8 then start to dim at 8 then shut off at midnight I would like that kind of schedule. I also know there’s a night and day difference between othe orbit and the kessil

The kessils are definitely a step up from the orbits :) you made a good choice there!

I think you would need the Kessil spectral controller to add ramping (may not work with the 160's), otherwise you could get away with simple on/off programming through a dual outlet light timer from Walmart or the reptile aisle at any chain pet store.

Intensity-wise, I would keep it at around 75-ish percent for a few weeks to see how things work out for your corals. The Zoas will be your litmus test of sorts, since they will either shrink from too much light, or widen their discs and stretch their stalks from not enough light.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
