Hello fellow reefers,

I have been running my current A360x on the photoperiod posted below. Coral growth seems to be stable and healthy but would like someone’s opinion that has the reflector to see if you saw a difference in the light spread and if perhaps it can help have sufficient PAR to keep some SPS.

Any advice would be much appreciated

What size tank? how deep is? And how high is the light mounted?
It’s a 85 gal, 30” tall and light is sitting about 6” above the water. I have a hexagon shaped tank so the foot print is 25"L x 29"W
I usually end up having a lot of light spill outside of the tank and don’t have any shadowed areas in the tank at all but I worry that the outside of the tank won’t get much par and just act like a spotlight and only provide adequate par on the middle of the tank where the light is mounted

With the reflector you might have to raise your light a little to give the outer edges of your tank a little par

Problem is I have a canopy and the light is mounted inside the canopy so lifting the light would require me to build a canopy riser

I see, with the reflector you will receive a more direct light in the center of the tank. Unless you have access to a par meter to give your self an idea of ur par values on the outer edges I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for what you need

I would buy another 360x and point them towards each other slightly inwards and you'll have plenty to cover sps. I would also extend your peak period more. 55 degree lens with narrow the coverage, so you would need another light to fill in that same area. A single 360x will produce shadows with branching sps, so either another fixture or led bars to fill in the gaps.
