Hey sorry if this a80 topic has already been beat into the ground… I got my 3yr old a little aquatop 5g cube and want to do mostly soft and lps. I want to ad an anemone and although the light appears to be pretty bright for how small the tank is compared to larger tanks I’ve had in the past… I’m assuming it’s not enough for an anemone? Not sure if anyone is familiar with those? If so would the A80 be ok since the tank is so small? Any other suggestions for a 5g?

So with this lights you can definitely do most softies and most lps. This lights would definitely be a good fit for a 5 gallon pico. However with anemones I would say the only anemones to put in a 5 gallon that could definitely be kept with this light are rock flowers. Other than that in a small tank like that you risk putting an anemone in and having it move around and sting other coral as most other anemones move around often

It’s mostly going to be temporary I’m getting ready to set up a 100g display so I wanted to get her a little anemone and baby clown to tide her over then I’ll but then in the big tank and get her a little goby. When you say the lights are good enough for soft are you referring to the aquatop stock lights or the a80

I understand what you want to do with the anemone, but its better to hold off until your 100g is established. Like I mentioned before the anemone is most likley going to move around in the pico a lot and probably sting your corals. And with anemones its best to introduce them into establsihed system that are consistent. And even if you do go ahead and add the anemone into the 5 gallon, getting it out most likely means moving that entire rock into the 100g.
