Just want to vent a little. Over the last two weeks I’ve lost a golden angel who I couldn’t get to eat. My first fish in my tank decided to jump out and now my quarantine tank broke out in velvet. Came home to one dead clownfish and the other covered. Second one died this morning. Ramping up copper for the two Blennies still in there. They look great and show no signs of disease. Fingers crossed. Been a very frustrating couple of weeks.

Sorry to hear :( what treatment were you running prior.
I did TTM and I’m aware that doesn’t do anything for velvet. They were in observation for three weeks post TTM. Golden angel was in a separate quarantine while I tried to get him to eat. I don’t know, maybe I cross contaminated. The velvet hit me like a truck. Went to work in the morning and everything fine. First clown dead when I got home. Blah.

Sorry for your losses and frustration. I've been there, it's no fun.

Losses like these are hard, but they make us better aquarists. You can learn from these losses to prevent them from happening again.

1. Golden angels are a very difficult fish. Make sure to research every purchase and be prepared to meet its needs.

2. All fish can jump. Make sure tanks are tightly covered to keep fish inside.

3. Velvet kills fast and is quite common. Consider prophylactic treatment in qt for every fish.

4. Frustrating things happen. Learn from them and move forward.

Here's hoping the upcoming week goes much better for you!
