Ab+ and lps such as favia

When sweepers are put at. Ight and I dose ab+ does that feed the lps such as favia and hammers? Or should i get some reef rods to target feed those as well? Thanks.

You can supplement their diet with AB+, Reef Roids or LPS pellets. If you are looking to maximize the feeding, make sure you target feed instead of broadcast feeding.

Also, watch out for increased phosphates when using these products. I've had to stop using AB+ (maybe once a week now) due to increasing phosphates. I now dose Coral Amino instead.

Okay I've been doing it about every 2 days 4ml in 30gal per bottle. I'm going to cut it back to once a week. Parameters are all off balanced now too ph shot up to 8.7 testingnfor ammonia out of nowhere (nothing died) nitrates back to 20 from 10 dkh is sitting at 4 when last test was 10.7. And my temp is dropping in the tank heater is working rkl is working and alerting me that its lower than setting. And I'm either dealing with the normal diatoms or dinos. Did a clean yesterday

The last thing I'd be doing right now is dosing anything. You need to get that tank STABLE!

I recommend a steady diet of doing NOTHING but monitoring and waterchanges. Don't change flow, lights, etc. Just watch those numbers. I don't know how your alk can go to 4 from almost 11 without a massive amount of corals in the tank. Are you sure you're testing correctly? Do you test your freshly made SW before doing a waterchange?

If your heater is working and your temperature is still dropping, then it's either not working, or undersized.

Yes and yes. I had a hard ph spike while i was at work and found it to be the rodi auto top off. turned the system off till i can figure out why my rodi hit 9.6ph over a week. once I figure that out ill restart that system. I am thinking that this occurred due to not having any agitation in the top off system. researching that aspect now.

That doesn't make sense. Pure water should have a pH of 7. If CO2 is high, it would depress the pH, not raise it. Something isn't right.

if the tank is a ph of 8.3 and the top off is 9.6 and you are changing .3gal a day in evaporation then it does. because your ph is going to rise as the 9.6 is added. I am going to test dkh of the top off tonight and see what the heck that is at. didnt even think to do that last night.

Wait, is your top-off kalkwasser? You said RODI, which would be a pH of 7.

No not kalkwasser flat rodi i dont dose any chemicals at all. just hand dose ab+ for coral supplement. and this reading was taken with digital ph meter i calibrated 3 weeks ago and red sea ph test.

Doing a bit of research shows you can't use those probes on RODI water to test pH. You'll get very high, inaccurate readings.
